There’s been one track, and one track only that I’ve been waiting to hear off “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”: and it’s “All the Lights”. When Kanye first graced us with a snippet for the song, it was titled “Ghetto University” and was supposed to feature Drake. Then he later announced that more names would appear on the finished version, including Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Fergie, Elton John and many more. ( Uh oh, I think I just pitched a tent.)

Although the finished version does not include Drake, it is a much better song. The beat is finished and sounds fantastic. Apart from the awesome trumpet that is present throughout the song, there are also strings and Elton John applies his musical touch on the piano. All in all, one of the better songs that I’ve listened to this year.

La Roux has been remixed plenty times, but apparently this one sticks out in people’s minds. I haven’t actually listened to the song but I’ve seen it on some pretty big blogs, including daNkideas, so it must be fresh.

Who doesn’t love it when their favorite artists get together to create a supergroup? Unlike the Miami Heat, in a supergroup all the artists can let their individual talents shine through without weakening the finished product. Think of rock supergroups Cream, Velvet Revolver and Audioslave, and rap supergroups such as the Firm, Slaugherhouse and now Child Rebel Soldiers.

Child Rebel Soldiers is a rap supergroup consisting of Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and Pharell Williams; not to shabby considering they’re some of the biggest names in hip hop. I’m intrigued by the possibilities, but I wanna know where they got their name from.

The beat sounds like it was produced by Pharell with maybe a touch of Kanye added in. There’s a lot going on in the background (most likely Pharell), but the beat features a woman’s soulful voice repeatedly singing, “don’t stop”, which adds a softer touch (most likely Kanye). Then near the end of the song, the beat switches over to what can only be elevator music, where Kanye add his lyrical touch,

“Niggas was hating on the internet, I couldn’t tell/I was too busy rapping, good as hell/ I was too busy flying, parasail”

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for these guys in the future (of course you’ll know too).

I’m glad that Lloyd Banks has begun to “Start It Up”, because he’s been putting out some fresh music in anticipation for his upcoming album. He’s already dropped “King/Do My Thing” and was on Kanye’s “Christian Dior Denim Flow”.

At first I wasn’t really feeling the song, because I heard Swizz Beatz doing his usual bullshit over the beat (although he doesn’t do a bad job on the chorus). I also thought the beat was really simple but it’s grown on me. Plus the song features Fabolous and Kanye West who both go in and drop some hot bars. I would drop some of their lines but I’m afraid that they’ll burn through the page (aka I’m too lazy). Enjoy.

Is anyone besides me pumped for Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Ass Job? He’s doing a great job promoting it, not that he needs to, but releasing a new song every Friday sets the internet abuzz for a day. The best part about these releases is that they’re album quality material, nay, classic album quality material. How many people can say that? Not. Fucking. Many. Not only do we get to listen to the brilliance that is Kanye West, we get to hear all the other guest appearances too. Kanye has added some new members to his GOOD music label in Pusha-T and I don’t think I’ve ever heard him do a song with Lloyd Banks before. This doesn’t include other GOOD music staples like Kid Cudi, Common, or other big acts like Jay-Z, Drake and Beyonce. Can’t wait till this album drops.

I know you’re excited because I am. When I saw that Chris Brown was doing a remix of his underrated single “Deuces”, I couldn’t hide my excitement. Now its finally here and its sick. Batting first is Drizzy, who raps over a different beat in the beginning of the song. It’s slower, more of an R&B beat that we typically hear from Drake. T.I. comes up next when the original beat drops, adding his southern drawl, followed by Kanye who drops this line, “you should have your own travel agent cuz you’s a trip/you should make your own toilet tissue because you the shit”. But the talent doesn’t stop there, after Ye comes Fabolous, who also drops some fresh lines when he raps, “meet my two fingers, intro-deuces”, followed by Rick Ross and Andre 3ooo batting clean up. Job well done by all artists.

I normally try and write my posts a day or two beforehand but this one deserved to be posted immediately. I was listening to “Love Lockdown” the other day when I remembered how amazing of a song it is, and how awesome 808’s and Heartbreaks is. Today, I was bored in class and I see this new Kanye song I’ve been too wanting to download. So I turn it on and am greeted to about 30 seconds of auto-tune bullshit. So I’m like, whatever, this song sucks. But then the beat kicked and I just knew I had to download it. This song is different than all the other tracks Ye’s been putting out – it’s more in line with 808’s and Heartbreaks. Enjoy.

This post right here should be certified fresh. Not because of my writing (yes I am very skilled in the arts of persuasion), but simply because this might be one of the sicker remixes I’ve heard in a good while. Here is an outstanding remix done by Tommie Sunshine & Figure Present Sylaxia (I have no fucking clue if this is an actual group, person, or otherwise. Whatever.) The original Kanye song gave me chills when I heard it, perhaps due to the “power” of Kanye’s message, coupled with a multi-layered beat with some sick guitar in the background.

But this remix blows my mind. It has a great buildup, then it gets all clubby, then it slows down, and then we get to hear the original before the remix starts up again. Nuts.

Chris Brown – “Yeah 3x”

Maybe not yet but he’s close. His latest single, “Dueces” has charted pretty well and it’s been a while since that whole fiasco with Rihanna. In the mold of “Forever”, Chris Brown delivers “Yeah 3x”, another pop track aimed at the ladies, although this one has more of an electronic/house sound. It’s a solid track, it didn’t wow me, but I could see this song doing very well on the charts.

That being said, I want to get back to “Dueces”. This may sound egotistical, but more and more lately I’ve begun realizing that I have some great fucking taste in music. I had the song “Deuces” way before it was released as a single to the mainstream and I remember thinking to myself, “this could be a hit”. Well, turns out I was right, because there’s a remix coming and by the looks of it, it’s gonna be dope. Here’s who’s rumored to be featured on the “Dueces” remix: T.I., Kanye West, Drake, Fabolous and Andre 3000. Now I don’t know about you, but that sounds like sick fucking lineup. Can’t wait.

Kanye West – “G.O.O.D. Friday” ft. Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Common, Big Sean, Charlie Wilson

I don’t have to tell you how talented Kanye is; just look at his list of hits and production credits and you’ll see what I’m taking about. His talent doesn’t only extend to creating good music, but he also has an eye for talent as well. Case in point, this song “G.O.O.D. Friday”. Just look at the names on this track; either they are up and coming or have been established in the game for some time. They’re all uber-talented, and this isn’t even the full G.O.O.D. music roster. Damn this song is hot. Definitely a download.
